Designing and building a pool typically involves three key stages
Design & Planning
Site Survey – property’s layout, soil condition, sun exposure, and zoning regulations.
Concept Design – Choose the pool shape (rectangular, freeform, etc.), and features (spa, waterfall, lighting, etc.).
Technical Planning– architectural and structural drawings. Determine plumbing, electrical needs, drainage, and safety requirements.
Permits & Approvals: Submit plans and secure necessary permits
Build the physical structure of the pool.
Excavation: Mark and dig the pool shape.
Formwork & Steel Reinforcement: Install rebar or steel mesh to reinforce the pool walls and floor
Plumbing & Electrical: pipes for filtration, heating, and lighting systems.
Shell Construction: Spray or pour gunite/shotcrete
Curing & Backfilling: Let the shell cure, then backfill the area around the pool.
Finalize the aesthetics and functionality.
Interior Finishing: Apply plaster, tile to the pool interior.
Decking & Landscaping: Install surrounding surfaces (pavers, wood, etc.) and landscaping.
Equipment Installation: Set up the filtration system, heater, automation, and lighting.

Site Access & Prep
Narrow access (<10 ft): Requires smaller excavation equipment.
Wall/gate removal: May be needed to create equipment access.
Demolition/Pre-grade: All landscaping, grass, and debris must be removed before construction starts.
Yard Elevation & Engineering
Elevation changes & retaining walls: May require engineering and prep work.
